CMTEC Automation team is the arm of the Rocktec division Engineering Services located in Bangalore, India. They provides various engineering and software services to the Epiroc divisions and other business areas for various new product development (NPD) programs, product maintenance, production and aftermarket. CMTEC’s mission is to support Epiroc R&D teams in developing products, solutions & technologies that will help reduce the time to market and thereby helping the growth of the business.


Job description

This is a project assignment for two years located in Bangalore, India. As the manager for the automation team in CMTEC, you will have the responsibility for building-up as well as keeping a strong and competitive software team to support the Rocktec Automation mission. You will be responsible for ensuring customer and employee satisfaction, increasing the volume and complexity of the services, operational efficiency of your team and defining & implementing the strategic direction for successful long-term development.


Tasks and Responsibilities

Leading a team of software engineers, working on application/GUI development and software testing for Rocktec automation products is one of the most essential parts of this role. As a manager it’s important to further develop and implement a solid strategy for customer satisfaction and growth as well as be able to motivate, coach and mentor the team to realize the goals. You need to ensure execution excellence by timely completion of tasks with quality and efficiency but also manage and further develop competence portfolio focusing on innovation.

As a manager in the CMTEC team, you will interact with customers on a regular basis and identify and address the needs and concerns. You will always have to look for areas to improve, create and implement plans to realize continuous improvement.


Experience and Leadership

You are a dynamic person with natural leadership skills, possess good communication skills and the ability to engage people. You believe in collaboration and have a strong personal drive and the ability to create a strong team and lead them to success in a global environment.



  • Masters in computer science
  • Engineering knowledge and experience is an advantage
  • Several years of project management experience, in leading large projects
  • Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle and the agile methodology
  • Experience in building and managing software teams
  • Experience in working with global internal customers form different cultures
  • Good command of English
